Glamour - Baring your bikini line - Get started: two days to one week ahead. There’s no perfect solution for hair removal, but there are ways to get better results from the method you prefer. Waxing: Allow forty-eight hours before exposure to sun or immersion in water (this includes baths), advises Vivian Orgel, a New York City hair-removal expert. Just-waxed skin needs time to heal. Shaving: To reduce redness and bumps, smooth on a foamy shaving lotion. Use a new razor blade and shave carefully. Hold skin taut while shaving and shave in the opposite direction of hair growth.
